Nathan enlisted in the Civil War at Erie, PA., on October 20, 1862. He was
discharged June 28, 1865. He was taken prisoner at Laurel Hill May 8, 1864 and was recaptured by
Sheridan's Cavalry.
Nathan Walter McKinney was born August 13, 1840, in Pine
Township, Crawford County, PA, the son of Isaac McKinney (1810-1870) and
Susan Litwiler (1812-1900).
He died April 28, 1905 in Pine Township, Crawford County, PA, and is buried in
Linesville Cemetery, Linesville Borough, Crawford
County, PA
